Following The Word of God Through Christian Meditation

Friday, November 25th, 2011

Most of the time, the word “meditation” is associated with humming monks in a Buddhist temple and their huge beads. Images of a bald male wearing a robe of the color yellow whose main goal is to achieve enlightenment would also come into your mind. Nevertheless, meditation is not exclusive for the Buddhist religion only. Christians meditate too but a different manner.

A Christian’s book which is the Holy Bible asks him or her to contemplate on his Creator’s word. Your every thought dictates your every action. Your mind is the most powerful organ in your body. By putting the teaching of God in helping one’s neighbor into your consciousness, you’re creating a better world to live in.

Meditation has a very different meaning in the Christian religion. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to shave your head and wear yellow robes, lie down on the floor or squat in order to meditate, meditation in the Christian religion means to think. In Christian meditation, you have to think about the good words that God has commanded people to do. You have to consider that you shouldn’t break the commandments and you have to do good to your fellow human beings in order to go to heaven and have eternal life.

Meditation is not all about thinking on every command that God has said. It requires you to put them at the center of your life, make them part of your being as a whole and let them be your guide to live a life according to His will. Christian meditation is as easy as breathing. A heartfelt prayer is enough to achieve this. You can pray to Him before you close your eyes at night, upon opening them first thing in the morning and while you’re in the middle of a busy day just to keep you guided.

You just need to think when you do the Christian meditation. Nothing of those unnecessary positions. Just think of His words, feel and completely believe in them and lastly, put them into action. Use them to live a life that will do nothing but please Him.

As you can see, you will know what your priorities in life are if you do Christian meditation. All you need is a little time to think about what God has said and in order to satisfy your soul’s needs. As you live life like this, you will see that you will be happier and be more satisfied on how you live your life.

Top 10 Profound Health Benefits Of Yoga

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

Meditation is an art that has been around since the dawn of the age of man. This is not a statement to be brushed over. After all, many many things about mankind have changed over time, but the profound art of meditation is something we have clung on to dearly. This is because there is no substitute for meditation. Nothing else, single handedly, bestows the many wonderful blessings that meditation brings… in fact nothing else even comes close. In this article I will outline the top 10 benefits that meditation brings and hopefully it will inspire all to learn and practice this timeless art.

1. Enlightenment: This is the one ultimate purpose of meditation. To help you discover the True Non-Dual Nature of Reality. To make you realize that your True Self is Divine and One with God.

2. Peace & Tranquility: The mind of one who meditates is like the easy, leisurely flow of the Ganges River, as compared to the ordinary mind, which is like Niagara Falls. In other words your mind is at peace, deeply silent and so you are at peace.

3. Wisdom: Meditation opens up the channels of communication between all levels of your being. What this means is that you have access now to the guidance that is coming directly from your Divine Self. This link gives rise to the flow of intuition and wisdom.

4. Joy & Happiness: Meditation strips away the layers of false identity that mask your True Self from shinning through. Once you eliminate these false egos and stop catering to their nonsense you can reside in your True Nature. This brings forth joy and happiness as it allows you to be at ease with life, existence and yourself.

5. Love & Compassion: As meditation reveals to you the interconnectedness of all humanity a great sense of compassion and love will spontaneously emerge. Knowing that deep within we are all divine in nature will change the way you view the apparent differences you see in others. This will also dramatically improve your relationships both intimate and casual.

6. Stress Reduction & Good Health: This goes hand in hand. As meditation teaches you the art of living in the present moment, anxiety and worry fade more and more into the background. This state of relaxed awareness is most beneficial, to not only helping the body heal itself, but also for preventing illness and disease by eliminating the poison of stress.

7. Improved Brain Function: All serious meditators know how much their brain function has been enhanced by meditation. Now, empirical studies every day are indicating this link. Meditation will undoubtedly increase your awareness and will significantly increase your intelligence.

8. Discover Your Purpose & Gifts: As you start to drop those aspects of you that are artificial and pretentious you will get a chance to see the real you. The parts that are not put on but are natural. This will give you insight into who you really are and what you really love in life. That is the secret of mastering the art of living and discovering your true talents, gifts and purpose. That which you love, you do for its own sake without the need for reward of accolades. Once this is discovered, life can be lived with passion, zeal and independence.

9. Yogic and Psychic Powers: We currently use only about 10% of our brain capacity. The practice of Yoga and Meditation awakens those regions of the Brain that normally lie dormant. When these areas of the brain are activated the powers they hold are unleashed. Such powers, used wisely, can be of benefit to others and of help to you in making progress on the spiritual path.

10. Magnificence: Charisma, Confidence, Courage, Character and Balance are all brought about by meditation. This leads to an individual who is immensely charming and magnetic. Best word I could think of to describe the collective affects of these personality improvements was Magnificent. Meditation will let your magnificence shine through.

Yoga And Its Importance

Monday, June 21st, 2010

Yoga is a traditional system of healing for the mind and body. It means union. It is a popular belief that yoga can cleanse your body of toxins and improve muscle tone, as well as help in blood circulation. Yoga was first originated in India, where it still remains a living tradition and is followed as a means to enlightenment. This spiritual practice has been evolving for more than 5,000 years now. In yoga there are many spiritual and physical exercises that are practiced to improve ones health and well being. It is very beneficial for people suffering from anxiety, arthritis, headache, migraine, multiple sclerosis, osteoporosis, pregnancy, rheumatoid arthritis, and much more.

Healthy body and happiness:

It is a popular saying that a sound mind could lead to a healthy body. Everybody has the right to be happy. Happiness and peace comes from within. It depends on your thinking and also on your body. Your body’s health and your mind are directly related. Only if you have a healthy body will you be free from any physical pain, and your mind will not be disturbed. Without good health you cannot be completely at peace. In yoga various types of meditation are taught, and you are made to concentrate on your inner self. It helps to focus on positive thinking and push all the negative thoughts away. Every disease and sickness is considered nothing more than an imbalance in the natural harmony of the body and mind. Restoring this balance leads to true healing.

Yoga has become very popular worldwide. People are seeking for it, as they realize the importance of self-contentment and inner peace. Be it work pressure or health problems, yoga can help you see through it. Following yoga postures, breathing exercises and meditation can relieve you from all pains and troubles. Yoga can also help you to lose weight. It lets you tune in, chill out, and shape up, all at the same time.

Health benefits of Yoga:

Yoga is said to be beneficial for healing many problems. Some of the benefits of yoga are:

• Helps to control anxiety
• Reduces stress
• Improves arthritis, back pain, and osteoporosis
• Relieves asthma
• Controls blood pressure, diabetes and epilepsy
• Combats chronic fatigue and depression
• Cures headaches, heart disease and multiple sclerosis
• Improves concentration and creativity
• Improves blood circulation
• Lowers fat
• Creates a sense of well being and calm

Risks:

It is very important to practice yoga under the supervision of an experienced and well-trained trainer; otherwise doing wrong exercises can sometimes worsen your problem and lead to complications. The best time to do yoga is said to be in the morning. Pregnant ladies can also do yoga, as it helps in easy delivery and helps lose weight post pregnancy.

Reach your goals:

Yoga means to unify all forms of life. It has a holistic approach to all aspects of life – physical, mental and spiritual life. Each person is considered a unique combination of body, mind and soul. It teaches the importance of maintaining harmony between the mind and the body. One can achieve happiness, contentment, liberation and enlightenment from the union with the divine consciousness known as Brahman, or with Atman, the transcendent Self. With yoga, one can achieve these goals.

Tibetan Buddhist Meditation

Thursday, April 8th, 2010

The History of Meditation

Tibetan Buddhist meditation has a long history, but not as long as the history of meditation itself. Buddhism was a branch of Hinduism and so meditation was practiced in Hinduism before it was practiced in Buddhism. Buddhist thought is that there are three things one must accomplish before enlightenment. Virtue, Wisdom, and Meditation. Meditation is practiced in many of the eastern religions, and even in western religions. But I will focus this article on Hinduism and Tibetan Buddhism meditation practices.

Hinduism is the oldest living religion that practiced meditation. Meditation in Hinduism is thought to have developed out of man’s need to find Brahman (God’s) true nature. Hindu practitioners would sit and think about who God really was, and by sitting for hours like this they began to have moments of clarity. These moments of clarity are what many practitioners even today are trying to achieve through meditation.

The difference in meditation in Buddhism and in Hinduism is that Buddhist practitioners did not believe that meditation is a means by which to be closer with God, but that it is instead a way for those meditating to become closer with everything on earth. It is said that Buddha (Siddhartha) found enlightenment by meditation underneath a Bodhi tree.

Meditation in yoga

In yoga, meditation is practiced after breathing exercises, or pranayama. The original philosphy of yoga was that is was important to meditate after practicing asanas, or the physical aspect of yoga, because the body would be prepared to relax and loose enough that sitting on the floor would be comfortable. Breathing before any type of meditation is a good practice, because slow breathing slows down your heart rate and calms the mind so that the body is able to move into a tranquil place.

Meditation in Tibetan Buddhism

Tibetan Buddhism was formed out of the principles of yoga and of Buddhism, which arrived in Tibet from India beginning in the eighth century. Meditation in Tibetan Buddhism is focused on tantric principles, and another name for Tibetan Buddhism is Tantrayana Buddhism. One purpose of tantra is to help turn the base human desires such as greed and envy into something good, like love and compassion. There are many steps in tantric Buddhism, these include lamrim (things that should be reflected on and meditative activities), preliminary practices, contemplation, Dzogchen (an advanced step which is the last step on the Tantrayana Buddhist practitioner’s path).

Ways to Meditate

In Tibetan Buddhism many forms of meditation are comprised of thinking about certain things in order to clear your mind and help make the path to enlightenment open. Some topics to meditate on include being charitable to others, seeing yourself and those around you as equal, and developing compassion.

In yoga and Hinduism, meditation is the path and the goal. There are many different forms that yogic meditation can take. Because meditation in yoga often starts with pranayama, or breathing exercises, meditation can also start with the breath. There are also forms of meditation where you meditate on a mantra, or prayer. There is meditation through kirtan, singing. There is also meditation on sound that can occur with music or in a kirtan session. And in both Hinduism and in Tibetan Buddhism there is meditation on an object, such as a Buddhist statue or a Buddhist thangka or a dorje or other symbol.

There are many different forms of meditation in both Hindusim (yoga) and Tibetan Buddhism. Whichever path one chooses in meditation, it is important to first find a spiritual guide. A spiritual guide can help you understand how to meditate and help guide your meditation path in ways that we cannot do on our own. Remember, even your spiritual guide started with a spiritual guide of their own at some point.

Monday, April 5th, 2010

As we all know, yoga is a group of ancient spiritual practices, which has shown a tremendous growth in generating awareness among the people all across the globe, regarding their physical fitness since last few decades.

Yoga is not only confined to the various aspects of physical fitness, rather it also enables to achieve the state of mental balance as well as enlightenment which will further lead to the betterment of the life.

The various types of yoga positions are the simple movements which are capable of being performed by the normal individual simply. But in order to obtain the best outcomes, the mind and body should work in accordance to each other. Therefore, all the movements should be performed gradually, amiably, and with an ease.

A) Yoga Positions (Asanas)

It has been found after undergoing various researches that the yoga positions are considered as the best practices for the toning up of muscles, lubrication of the joints, and massaging of the body as compared to other exercises.

Not only this, these positions enable each nerve inside the body, glands, ligaments, and muscles to exercise. Therefore, it is apt to say that the performing yoga asanas is the most outstanding method of self care.

B) Various types of yoga positions

Standing Yoga Asanas; One of the most effective standing yoga position is Tadasana, which deliver flexibility and pliableness to the joints and muscles in case of physical and mental stress.

a) Forward Bending

Paschimotanasana is one of the forward bending asanas, which is accompanied by the gradual stretching of the body for the extension of back portion of the spine so as to deliver elasticity which will further impart flexibility to the limbs.

b) Back Bending

Bhujangasana is a type of back bending asana, which extends the front portion of the spine. Therefore, the combination of Bhujangasana and the Paschimotanasana results in obtaining nimbleness for the body.

c) Matsyendrasana

The combination of Matsyendrasana with the Paschimotanasana and Bhujangasana delivers buoyancy to the spirit as well as a whole arrange of new bodily movements.

d) Adho Mukhavasana

Adho Mukhavasana is an inverted position which strives against the stresses of day-to-day life.

e) Padmasana, Vajrasana, & Simhasana

These three asanas are the sitting yoga positions, which enable the body to maintain upright position by correcting the defective posture as well as to help in toning up of the muscles.

f) Marichyasana

Marichyasana focuses over the abdominal and lumbar regions due to which it maintains the good functional state of various abdominal organs and results in the massaging and toning up of the pelvic and lumbar areas.

g) Sirsasana & Sarvangasana

These two positions play a significant role in making the forelimbs strong.

Therefore, it has been found that by going through various types of yoga positions, you can easily keep yourself physically, mentally, and spiritually fit. But, it is always recommended to avoid performing all the yoga asanas at one go, as this may lead to various severe outcomes instead of benefits. Therefore, you should always practice different types of positions each day for a variety.

Energy Enhancement Meditation Incredibly Profitable And Successful Movie List: American Beauty.

Sunday, March 21st, 2010

What makes a good movie? And what makes an Incredibly Profitable and Successful Movie? Because usually, the two go together, unless the bad guys against evolution successfully oppose.

The Three Major themes of Enlightenment are..

1. Opening the Heart
2. The Mastery of Relationships.
3. Life and Death and Enlightenment.

And all truly good and Incredibly Profitable and Successful Movies contain all these three themes and some spiritual instruction of a major thoughtform which needs to be entered into the consciousness of humanity.

At this moment, fifty percent of humanity have not as yet successfully Opened their Hearts. These people will enjoy, as Shakespeare said, “Movies full of Sound and Fury, Signifying Nothing” which include the vast majority of all movies.

These fifty percent of people including all levels of the Movie Making community will give moderate success to a movie with a good script, costumes, music and production values. But it is another paradigm for them, they cannot understand the meaning and reality of the words, Intuition, Significance And Purpose.

At this moment, fifty percent of humanity have Opened the Heart a little through a lot of evolution in which they have used techniques of meditation like the highly advanced techniques of Energy Enhancement to remove energy blockages from the heart and also the Highest Heart! Only these people understand the meaning and reality of the words, Intuition, Significance And Purpose

Yet for real popularity and incredible money making potential and for an over 400 Million Dollars in Receipts Movie.

For one hundred percent of the people to go to a movie a movie must contain both a good script, costumes, music and production values, AND Intuition, Significance And Purpose.

This series of articles will talk more on the theme of Significance which is, as Shakespeare pointed out, the most important theme of all.

“Only Significance equals Success!”

American Beauty By Sam Mendes and with Kevin Spacey pounds on the theme of Life and Death but includes opening of the heart and relationships.

It only fails to make loads of money because the themes are not hidden enough to be accessible to most unevolved Humanity.

For example, my DVD renter in Spain thought that Lester was Killed by his wife whereas he was killed by Col. Frank Fitts.

In satellite channels to India all themes to do with sex and homosexuality are routinely removed and censored.

Thus the driving scenes and themes of the Movie as when Col. Frank Fitts homosexually kisses Lester and provides the motive for his murder, (Homosexuality).

And when Lester finds our The Mena Suvari Character is a virgin and lovingly withdraws, (Sex) showing his Initiation of the Mastery of Relationships and the reason for his happiness and enlightenment just before he dies.

These two essential scenes are removed, censored, from the movie because these two themes are not allowed to be seen in India.

Thus for a billion people in India it is not possible to understand the significance of this movie!

For real success in movies, you must be capable of hiding all these themes and themes of even higher significance in a Rip Roaring story as in “The Lord of the Rings”, “Star Wars” and to a lesser extent, “Harry Potter” which I will go into in other articles.

The American Beauty movie starts with Death, “In one year I´ll be dead” says Kevin Spacey right at the beginning. At the end of the movie, Lester, his character will be dead And also Enlightened.

All the people in the movie are totally mad.

Mad enough to kill, because they want something which is not essential to their real nature and Soul Path.

Except for Lester who progresses through and rejects, sees deeply into the madness of what he is doing, and rejects..

1. He rejects Money and Career not in alignment with his soul path representing his Initiation of the Opening Of The Heart.

2. He rejects his going back to the old student ways of flipping burgers, partying.. getting high with marijuana, and getting laid.. this time sculpting his body with weight training, for one year, to attract the 16 years old Mena Suvari character, again representing his Initiation of the Opening Of The Heart.

3. He rejects inappropriate love as he sees deeply into the nature of the homosexual Chris Cooper character, Col. Frank Fitts, USMC and the 16 year old Mena Suvari character representing his Initiation of the Mastery of Relationships.

This seeing deeply creates such love within his heart for all and everything in his life, his mad wife and daughter, true unattached love for Mena Suvari. At the end of the movie, after having rejected everything not in alignment with his soul, he feels wonderful for the first time in years.

In that moment he becomes Enlightened. Even when Chris Coopers character kills him he says, “I suppose I should feel really pissed off by the end of my stupid little life”, but then he sees all the Beauty and Love of his life in flashbacks.

And he talks to the audience and says, when you die, you will understand this too. And the Beatles, George Harrison, music at the end of the movie supports this theme of Love – “Because the world is round it turns me on”. How can even death spoil that Vision of Love….

Lester’s daughter, the Thora Birch character thinks wrongly that she will be free and happy leaving her mad parents by leaving with Ricky, her drug dealing boyfriend to go to New York.

Whereas she really loves Ricky’s real several moments of Soul Contact when he sees the souls beauty in the eyes of Dead People, and sees the freedom of the Soul Energy in the movements of a paper bag.

Ricky really loves her and this is shown by the heart-stoppingly beautiful Thomas Newman music whenever Love, the major theme of this picture, comes down from heaven in connection with this love story between Ricky and Lester’s daughter.

Ricky has had Satori. He has had a “Little Glimpse out of the corner of his eye”, but now he needs to avoid becoming “Comfortably Numb”, (Pink Floyd Song) where with their “Wrong Livelihood” of drugs, (Gautama Buddha), not in alignment with his soul path, will destroy both their lives in the future.

Lester’s wife, the Annette Bening character, really takes the job of making money seriously and you realise how mad she is when after an amusing episode trying to sell a house, she beats herself up and cries heart-rendingly.

She finds consolation from Lester’s lack of interest in making money in the arms of her House Selling Hero, Buddy, “Have you ever been nailed by the King!” and when Lester finds out, when Lester, “Rains on her Parade” she screws herself up to kill Lester. Mad!

Lester tries to help her when he says “Its only a fucking Couch!” and then she shows how seriously she takes her madness by retreating from Love when Lester looks as if he is going to pour beer over her Italian Silk Covered whatever, and by returning with a gun and a desire for liberation from Lester. She is round the twist.

And yet she cries out in anguish when she returns home to find Lester, Dead. She is not yet totally gone.

The sixteen year old Mena Suvari character has written herself into a wrong thoughtform which will destroy her life if she enters into it. She longs to be different, to be a beautiful model, to climb the ladder of success with her sex.

She tells everyone that this is the way it is. Life is like that. And this way can lead to success, yes, but it will also lead towards madness as this wrong thoughtform takes you away from your true soul path.

And the taking of the path leading you away from your true soul path really is normal in just about everyone. It is the major cause of all pain and bad luck in everyone’s life.

By, as yet not taking that path, the Mena Suvari Character really is different!

And yet when Lester makes his sexual approach, she tells Lester that she is a virgin. She really is different again! And this causes Lester to come out of his lust. To see this beautiful young lady as his daughter. Someone in need of love and attention, and help. Not just as a sex object, but as someone he truly loves.

As the George Clooney character in Quentin Tarantino’s “From Dusk till Dawn”, says at the end of the movie in a similar situation, “I may be a Bastard, but I’m not a Fucking Bastard!”

Lust is not necessarily Love. Love is the Real Opening of the Heart. Just wanting to really help someone else.

And this Opening of the Heart of Lester makes his energy flow with the energy of true love for everyone in his life. Just before he leaves his life, which is the destiny of all living beings on this planet. “No-One gets out of Life, Alive!”

And of course the maddest guy of all is the Chris Cooper character, Col. Frank Fitts, USMC, who actually kills Lester with a gun. Like the Al Pacino Character in “Angels in America” he is a repressed homosexual who is driven mad by his repressed desires, and the need to hide them from contemporary society.

Even his son, Ricky underestimates him, “You sad, tired, old man”, because he does not understand the homosexual repression which drives his life, to destroy all love and everyone around him.

His wife, Ricky’s mother, is mad from lack of love from her homosexual husband. Free Ricky is repressed, sent to military school, sent to an asylum to be anaesthetised, Comfortably Numb, “Because you need structure and discipline.” if you are repressing anything, using the wrong thoughtform, not in alignment with your true soul path..

Col. Frank Fitts kills Lester because he has shown Lester the truth of his repressed homosexuality, of his repressed desire, of his repressed love. And because that truth, if it gets out, can destroy his carefully constructed life of repressed madness, he has to kill Lester!

All the mad people in this movie are driven to madness by the desire for something which is not essential to anything but their selfish competitive egos. Wrong thoughtforms. Wrong thinking.

And yet, this is the way of all human evolution. We need to experience the results of all wrong thinking, all the bad luck and bad Karma, until “We have been down that path, (All bad paths), and we know where it ends” from the Matrix and again from the Matrix, we know it, “From Balls to Bones”.

This wisdom is not intellectual, with many lifetimes of the use of meditational techniques like Energy Enhancement it becomes Hard Wired in, intuitive from the Soul Infused Personality and is accessible from Child to Old Person.

And we will keep making those mistakes until we know we have the Freedom, the Free Will, the Soul Intuition, “Only to make the Right Choice!” in life.

And only Lester finds the way out by rejecting all the wrong thoughtforms finding real love and enlightenment just before he is murdered. This is the way of Enlightenment, and, “This planet is a Factory for the production of Enlightened Beings” it is all our paths, too.

The greatest drawing actors intuitively make the right choice of great themes and significance when they choose their movies because as we said at the beginning. “Only Significance equals Success!”

This “American Beauty” movie is highly Significant. And how do we really know this. We Feel it in our Hearts….

Ponder on this…

Patanjalis Yoga Sutras

Patanjalis Yoga Sutras is a text that covers many aspects of life, beginning with a code of conduct and ending with the goal of yoga, a vision of ones true Self. The PantajalisYoga Sutras is probably the most authoritative text on yoga. It defines yoga as a focusing of the attention to whatever object is being contemplated to the exclusion of all others. Yoga isnt only about postures, or meditation, it is a way of life, or religion. In this influencing scripture there are eight steps to awakening or enlightenment through yoga. These eight astanga or limbs of yoga are: yamas, niyamas, asanas, pranayama, pratyahara, dharana, dhyana, and samadhi.

The yamas consist of lessons in moral and social conduct in our environment. It teaches us to restrain from lying, stealing, and greed. Non-violence and consideration toward all living things is the key. Communication with sensitivity towards others and moderation in all things we do is revered.

The niyama focuses on attitudes towards ourselves: compromising, cleanliness, serenity, devotion, and asceticism. One should study and reverence to a higher intelligence. There is an acceptance of our limitations in relation to God. It is key to have removed the impurities from the mind and body.

In the asanas, one focuses on posture practice, positioning the body while incorporating the breath to achieve a greater awareness in the mind. One is alert and relaxed without tension, while observing the reactions of the body and breath to various postures. This minimizes the effect of the external influences on the body, such as diet and climate.

Pranayama, or the restraint and control of the breath, helps with concentration, energizing and balancing of the mind and body.

Pratyahara is the relaxation of the senses, where no distractions actually activate the mind.

Dharana, or concentration, is the ability to direct the mind toward a chosen object and focus in on it alone.

Dhyana, or meditation, is the ability to develop focused interactions with what we seek to understand.

Lastly, but most importantly, Samadhi is the ultimate state of Self-realization, or union with the Source.

Zen Meditation: Techniques To Learn

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

Zen meditation is also referred to as Zazen. It is a type of meditation that works centrally. It is actually the study of oneself. Most Zen Buddhists are also referred to as “Zen”. When attaining enlightenment, Buddha was seen in seated meditation. Today, Zen meditation has come with the same seated meditating tradition.

This type of meditation was pursued for long 2500 years and passed on from one generation to the other. This has been considered to be the most important thing that has been passed on. It spread its wings from India to China, then Japan to rest of the Asia and finally to the western country.

Zen meditation has evolved as a boon to people across the globe who are really stressed out due to the irregularity, chaos and tensions existing in their daily life. It is a very simple practice. You will find it very easy to describe and more easy to follow.

However, just as other meditation practices, it takes your efforts to enjoy the benefits.

Human beings have a tendency to visualize body, breath and mind separately. When it comes to Zen meditation, all these aspects unite as one big reality.

The most important thing to focus on here is the position of the body. The body follows a specific pattern to communicate to the world and to communicate to itself internally. The manner in which you position your body has a lot to do with what happens to you breath and ultimately to the mind.

The most recommended pose in Zen meditation is the sitting position. The use of Zafu or a small pillow in order to raise the back a little is common. It helps the knees to touch the ground. With your bottom on the pillow and two knees touching the ground, you tend to create a tripod base that provides you three hundred and sixty-degree stability.

Here are some of the most common Zen meditations:

a) Burmese position

There are many varied leg positions, you can follow when seated in this position. The first and the simplest pose possible here is in which you need to cross your legs and both your feet rest flat on the floor. Rest the knees on the floor. Now, the muscles will get loose and your knees begin to drop.

Sit on the third of the Zafu pillow and shift your body forward a little. Imagine that top of your head is pushing towards the ceiling, stretch your body, keep your body straight and let your muscles go soft and relax. With your buttock on the Zafu push your stomach a little and keep your body upright.

b) Half lotus position

This is a position where the left foot should be placed on to the right thigh and the right leg should be touched under.

c) Seize position

Kneel with your buttocks resting on the upturned feet that form an anatomical cushion. You can even use a pillow in order to keep the weight away from the ankles.

Follow the Zen meditation techniques mentioned above and benefit from these.
